ALBANY, GA -- Colquitt Regional Medical Center announced Friday it's plans for an expansion to its current facility.

The project will consist of a 66,000 square foot expansion to update emergency departments and other operating facilities. The $30 million dollar renovation also includes 10,000 square feet of the existing facility.

Officials hope to be breaking ground in March of 2013 and anticipate that all renovations and expansion will take two years to complete.

The main goal of this renovation is to provide patients with a better experience, which will include private rooms, and more accessible patient services. Among those services will be physical therapy, speech therapy and aquatic therapy.

Hospital officials hope to use local contractors to provide the work and are thrilled to be starting this project.
