ALBANY, GA -- More jobs are on the way to Albany courtesy of the Outdoor Network. Ted Clem, president of the Economic Development Commission announced at the Payroll Development Authority meeting, that they have made an agreement with the Outdoor Network, who owns Power Sports Plus. Clem says through the agreement, they have recruited the network's Internet division to Albany. The call center/warehouse will create 112 jobs. The center will be located on Seminole Lane and the building has already been purchased. Construction will also soon begin on the Albany Dougherty Industrial Park. They want the park "shovel ready" to make it easier for businesses to move in, prompting more jobs. It was also announced Wednesday morning that The former Cooper Tire plant has been sold for $8.5 million and will officially be added to the tax rolls for Dougherty County this year. No word yet on what the owners plan to do with the property.
