ALBANY, GA -- The Albany City Commission voted to put more money into a study for a future site of the multimodal transportation center.

The Georgia Department of Transportation and the Federal Transportation Administration is telling the city of Albany that since the last site, the parking lot behind the fire station on Roosevelt, fell through, they need to pay another $150,000 to fund a study that will determine a suitable site.

$5 million in federal funds are at stake if they do not conduct the study. City commissioners are complying, but say if the current site of the bus station is not found to be a viable site, they may drop the issue altogether.
