Latest news, weather and high school sports for Albany and Southwest Georgia

The Chehaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America held a recruiting event at the Albany Civic Center Thursday evening.

Organizers say there are multiple boy scout troops in and around the Albany area that cater to boys of all ages.  Hundreds of people attended the event and Chehaw Council member Preston Parker says it’s not too late to sign up.  “Fill out the application.  It gives us the information we need.  Also, we find out what pack in the area that they live in so we can find a pack that is closer for them to have an easier commute.  Also sometimes we find packs that they really like that might be a little further where their friends go”.
