Derrick Davis pled guilty to four charges of computer trespass after instructors noticed grade discrepancies.
 /
GBI
ALBANY, GA -- A former
Albany State University
student has pled guilty to charges after getting caught changing his grade.
Officials with the Georgia Attorney General's office say that Derrick Davis pled guilty to four counts of computer trespass after an investigation by the university and Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Dougherty County Superior Court Judge Willie Lockette sentenced Davis to 24 months probation and ordered to pay a $2000 dollar fine.
Investigators say that in December of 2010 while Davis was a student at ASU and a part-time employee with the information technology department, he altered his grades in four classes. His instructors noticed the alteration of the grades and alerted university administrators. Davis admitted to investigators that he discovered a vulnerability in the instructor password routine and used it to change his grades. He was later expelled from Albany State University.
