ALBANY, GA --
A Tifton car dealership went up in flames Wednesday night.

The Tifton-Tift County Fire Department recieved a call about a fire at the Budget Car Sales on Rt. 82 around 9:00PM.

Officials with the fire department say the fire was suspicious in nature and a fire investigator was called to the scene.

"The fire was thought to have started just outside the building in a trash container that was located next to the wall, an exterior wall, it became apparent to us that was rather suspicious", said Tifton-Tift County Fire Chief Michael Coleman.

The investigator also found it suspicious and launched and investigation, in which they already have a few leads.

The owner of Budget Car Sales said that he doesn't understand why someone would do that.

Fire officials say that about 30% of the building was damaged by the fire and that the fire department's quick response time kept the damage from being worse than what it was.
