ALBANY, GA --
The people of Tift County have spoken by voting in newly elected sheriff, Gene Scarbrough.

Scarbrough swept the race winning every precinct around the county, and spoke after the victory about his plans for the future of the department.

"We've got a good department down there; the guys know what to do. There may not be much to change, I just don't know yet, but that will be a decision made by many, not just myself. We want to put the best people in the places they need to be," said Scarbrough.

While his supporters celebrated, Scarbrough could be seen smiling and taking in his victory, to which he credit his family, campaign staff, and supporters.
