ALBANY, GA -- Two cars were involved in a collision at the intersection of North Slappey Boulevard and Whispering Pines Road.

Albany police say that a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Amy Collier was traveling north bound on Slappey Boulevard attempting to make a left turn, westbound onto Whispering Pines. A 2002 Chevrolet S10 driven by Natoria Smith had a green light but the turning light for Collier had expired. Collier proceeded to make the turn and struck Smith.

The Albany Fire Department used the jaws of life to rescue a person out of the crashed vehicles.

Collier was cited with failure to yield while making a left turn. Smith along with a passenger were transported to the hospital for further observation.
