ALBANY, GA --

The last day of Georgia’s tax exempt weekend had people rushing to the mall Saturday to save a little extra money.

Shoppers were able to forgo taxes on shoes and clothing under $100, tech items like printers and computers under $1000, and school supplies under $20.

People like Jayqwece Herring were welcoming the savings no matter what they were buying, "on the tax free holiday, say if you go in a store and they got a shirt for $4.99 you don't have to pay the 7% tax you just pay $5 and you get a penny back and you get a shirt so it's saving you money depending on what you’re looking for."

This was Georgia’s first tax holiday since 2009.
