ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to know what is required to set up a protest in Albany.

Fox 31 spoke with Assistant City Manager Wes Smith who says the City Manager's Office asks protesters to notify the Albany Police Department about five days before they plan to picket.

If the organized protest requires a road or area to be roped off, protesters must fill out appropriate paperwork with the office.

Smith says for safety purposes, protesters may be restricted to a certain area but stresses the public has a right to freedom of speech as long as it shows a reasonable level of decency and doesn't incite anger or violence.
