ALBANY,GA --
A sad day for young students--summer is almost at a close.

And while the first day back is still a week away, school officials want parents to be prepared.

Dougherty County School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree announced that open houses for elementary schools will take place this Thursday from 4pm-6pm.

Open houses for middle and high schools will take place this Thursday as well from 5pm to 7pm.

School starts back August 6th.
