Long says being yourself and treating others with kindness is the secret to a long and happy life.

ALBANY, GA -- One local woman has certainly lived up to her name.
Friends, family, and even Mayor Dorothy Hubbard gathered at the Golden Retreat Senior Center on Wednesday to celebrate the 100th birthday of Miss Buena Long.
Miss Long, born on July 25th, 1912, says she feels great and still participates in the things she loves to do.
"I like to recite poems, go to church, play bingo - all of those things," said Long, who made jokes about times being better now due to air conditioning.
When asked the secret to a long and happy life? Long says just be yourself and treat others as best you can.
