ALBANY, GA --
The Lee County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday to discuss the Local Options Sales Tax.

With the "split," as Chairman Ed Duffy referred to it, still in the negotiations stage, Duffy is reassuring the public and city governments that a deal will get done.

"There hasn't been an equitable split since 1980, since 1980 the county has boomed as far as the population, so the present split is not equitable to everyone," said Duffy.

The negotiations will continue throughout the year until an agreement can be met between the cities of Lee County.
