ALBANY, GA --

City Commissioner Tommie Postell wants to make sure another incident like the July fourth fights downtown Albany, don't happen again.

The commission approved a one-day alcohol license for Austin’s Firegrill and Oyster Bar for an event benefitting the Flint River Habitat for Humanity.

Postell asked what security measures were in place to make sure those attending do not get unruly.

“We're gonna have the marine corps guys, the reservists are gonna come help us do the security measures and, you know, just be aware of the police officers and let them know what's going on so they can be in the area also,” says restaurant owner Austin Newman.

The event, taking place in the parking lot area, will also be fenced in.

Newman does not expect any disruptions.
