From file
ALBANY, GA -- FOX 31 has learned that Dougherty County has it's first confirmed case of West Nile virus.
Officials with the Southwest Georgia Public Health District office say that a case has been reported in a Dougherty County hospital and that they are currently awaiting a final report on the case.
People who will be out during dawn and dusk when
mosquitoes
are most active, should take precautions such as using insect repellant to prevent bites stress Public Health officials. They add that those most at risk to the virus include the young, elderly, and people with chronic diseases.
