ALBANY, GA. --

To culminate a week of service, 50 kids from Jacksonville Beach, Florida spent Thursday afternoon cleaning the yards of Albany’s elderly.

Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful has partnered with Beach United Methodist Church to host the weeklong mission.

The group of volunteers didn't mind getting dirty.

They cut yards, trim back tree limbs, and plucked weeds for those who aren't able to do so.

This is the group's 5th year coming to Albany.

“When these kids sign up, they know we're not going to an exotic location with water parks and fun. They know they're coming to serve others in the heat and they're going to work hard and these kids keep signing up year after year,” said Brett Duncan, Beach United Methodist Church Youth Leader.

The kids will head back to Jacksonville Beach on Friday.
