ALBANY, GA --
Sometimes, there is not enough time to describe the impact one soul can have on a group of people. Other times, the right words can’t be found to say just how much someone means to a heart. Traci Henry, founder of Butterfly Kisses, has given hope and encouragement to many families with her ideas and leadership.

Traci’s son, Chance, has Severe Developmental Delay, Brain Damage, Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy and she realized he didn’t have any friends to play with. After talking with other parents in a similar situation, she realized their children mainly stayed at home. She created the Butterfly Kisses playgroup to bring these children and parents together. The group grew into a non-profit and even won a contest to build the Butterfly Kisses Playground.

“The park is set up for special needs children, special activities for them are to be found there and my son just loves it. He gets out there and you can see joy in his face and that comes from the fact that he is playing like normal children and he misses that so much” said Kenneth West, a member of the Butterfly Kisses Play Group.

Talking with members of the Butterfly Kisses Play Group, it is clear that each family gushes with love and admiration for Traci and Chance. They are so thankful for the awareness she has brought to the community.

“I wish there were more people like her in the world. I wish that people would be more understanding about the special needs community and she’s really helped bring awareness to that” said Karen Mulford, member of Butterfly Kisses Play Group

As any mother would, Traci’s heart is overflowing with love for her son, and she does all she can to make sure he has a full life. She is overjoyed to be able to touch other lives in the process.
