ALBANY, GA --
A group of Jacksonville teens made their way up to Albany this week to help clean up the city.

With the young group making the trip, Mayor Dorothy Hubbard, showed her appreciation Tuesday by coming out to one of their clean-up projects.

"Just to have young people out here, willing to give and understanding that the more you give, the more you receive. And understanding that their not going to be paid for this, but their going to be rewarded, and that to me is just really important, and it's important in my mind to teach young people that at an early age," said Hubbard.

Mayor Hubbard also said that this clean-up project is a big part of her, "Make Albany/Dougherty, beautiful campaign." Elected in January, Mayor Hubbard has been a proponent of improving Albany by cleaning up the city and making it a better place to live and visit.

The group will be here throughout the week, cleaning up and improving Albany.
