ALBANY, GA --
A routine traffic stop turned into into a police pursuit for Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit officers Tuesday afternoon.

According to officers with the ADDU, an officer was preparing to make a traffic stop and turned his lights on. At that time, the car sped off after seeing the lights of the officer's car.

The car then proceeded to drive the wrong way on Madison and ended up on a dirt road heading into a wooded area. The occupants threw marijuana out the window of the vehicle as they drove.

The car occupants then ditched the car in the woods. Officers say they believe only that there were only two people in the car, and currently have the car and one of it's occupants in custody.
