ATLANTA, GA -- State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler presented Irene Kelley of Albany, an employment and training consultant in the Georgia Department of Labor's Albany Career Center, with a graduation certificate from the department's Executive Commitment to Excellence in Leadership (EXCEL) 2012 class.

EXCEL is a program designed to develop future leaders for the department. Classes explore the major political, social, and economic issues facing the state and nation. EXCEL is a partnership between the GDOL and the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government. The graduation ceremony was held recently in Athens. Also participating in the ceremony is David Key, EXCEL facilitator for the Carl Vinson Institute in Athens.
