Drug unit officials warn kids about the dangers of drugs

ALBANY, GA -- Members from the Albany Dougherty Drug Unit met with the River Road Church of Christ this evening to steer kids away from future drug addictions.

Drug unit officials spoke to church members about how drugs affect lives in a negative way, what the consequences are for being caught with drugs, and even let them see examples of drugs including marijuana, crack cocaine, and oxycodone.

One point they stressed is that even though prescription drugs are legal, they can be abused.  Officials say they hope by doing these sessions that all attendees will take the information back to their family members and help clean up their neighborhoods.
