The Flint RiverQuarium's replica blue hole

ALBANY, GA --
A blue hole is an upwelling of water out of the ground. The name blue hole comes from the vidrant blue color of the water.
They can occur in oceans or rivers and have even been known to pop up on farm land. With a little searching, you may be able to find one in our area.
Richard Brown from the Flint RiverQuarium says, "there are several along the Flint River, even in this area. One of the most famous is Radium Springs, which use to be the local swimming hole back in the day where all the kids would come and cool off during the summer, but it was destroyed during the 94 flood."
