ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Police Department held a Gospel worship night Friday to better connect with the community.

Investigator Kawaski Barnes lead the event, and said the main goal of the event was to create a relationship with the department and the people of Albany.

"We as a unit wanted to be more proactive then reactive. Often times the Police Department reacts to an incident after its taken place, but we wanted to take steps to become more proactive within the community." said Barnes.

The evening of worship was led by several gospel singers, and a number of local citizens came out to support.
