ALBANY, GA. --

Once again Albany is showcasing local artists. The city held its monthly "Nights @ D'Town" event Friday night.

The art showcase is both a benefit for the city as well as the artists. They get to display their product and build up their clientele while providing entertainment to patrons.

Those who went were able to view and buy artwork ranging from decomp-pop to jazz prints.

“Albany needs this. It needs art because it's just a great way to open up areas like the downtown which is kind of building up slowly. It's always great to pull in tourism when you have something beautiful to look at,” says Eric Gordon, a local artist.

The event is held on the last Friday of every month.
