ALBANY, GA -- In our Facebook story of the day you wanted to know how to handle a death threat.

Police say a death threat is something that's used to pressure a victim to manipulate their behavior.

It can be received a number of ways including through a phone call, emails, internet blogs or letters.

The Albany Police Department says there are certain steps you should take if receiving death threats.

Lt. Michael Persley says “if your fear for you life you should contact police immediately. If it is something that you don't fear for your life and you have a concern, you should so a little investigating on your own.”

Once you contact police be ready to give them as much information as you can so they can further investigate to help determine if charges need to be filed.
