GSP investigates fatal crash

WORTH COUNTY, GA --
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened in Worth County Sunday.

It happened at Highway 256 at the Sumner Road intersection around 2:00 p.m.


 

According to officials, a Nissan Quest, driven by 47-year-old Tamara Jarvis, stopped at the stop sign, then proceeded into the intersection and was struck by a six-wheel westbound Eckrich Meats truck on its passenger side.

The driver of the truck was not injured; however the three people in the Nissan were trapped inside.

20-year-old Catherine Jarvis was killed in the crash, while Tamara Jarvis, the mother of the two passengers, was taken to Tift Regional Hospital.

The third passenger, 17-year-old Paige Jarvis was airlifted to Macon. They are both listed in critical condition.
