ALBANY, GA --
The Albany Area Black Expo kicked off earlier this week and today people filled a room for the annual Women of Purpose luncheon.

This years keynote speaker was actress, singer, and dancer Jasmine Guy .

She spoke about the importance of women making time for themselves and when asked "what else are you doing?"  to acknowledge that you play many roles and have 'enough' on your plate.

This event was an opportunity for  the Expo to honor women in Southwest Georgia who are doing phenomenal work in a number of areas.

Christopher Pike, AABE Chairman says "whether it be in the areas of religion, education, or entrepreneur. So, it's just an opportunity to tell women in our community thank you for the work that you're doing and that we appreciate you."

The past two years have been such a success that Pike says to mark your calendar because next  year's Black Expo is scheduled for April 9th through the 13th.
