ALBANY, GA. --
An Albany driver is safe after being trapped inside a burning car.

Saturday night just before 11:30 p.m. Jonathan Alameda was driving in the 2000 block of Whispering Pines Road when he failed to notice a quick turn in the road.

The 2010 Hyundai Sonata crashed into a pine tree and set ablaze with Alameda inside.

Albany police traffic investigators and the Albany Fire Department were called to the scene due to the seriousness of the crash.

The driver is now recovering from injuries sustained during the accident.
