ALBANY, GA -- The 2012 MS walk kicked off in streets downtown Albany Early Saturday morning.
Multiple sclerosis is defined as a chronic autoimmune disorder.
Participants walk to raise money for research, comprehensive programs and services for people affected by the disease.
Close to 200 people participated in the event local but this wasn’t the only event to happen in the State.
Anne Ethridge MS Walk Coordinator says "we have so many people affected by MS in Albany alone in South Georgia and across the united states and we need to find a cure for MS and that’s what we’re doing out here today."
Nationwide 400,000 Americans live with Multiple Sclerosis.
