ALBANY, GA --
In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know what the local schools systems are doing to curb the high school dropout rate.

Local schools are working to keep students in school by finding creative ways to inspire students about planning for the future.  

Many schools are getting parents involved and developing early warning systems to identify students that may be at risk of dropping out.

"If they just fall behind, they can go to Saturday school and catch up academically and we also have programs at our South Georgia Regional Achievement Center where student you can catch up two years in one year’s time," said R.D. Harter Dougherty County Public Schools.

The Dougherty County School System is also partnered with Albany State University with their students in Albany Early College. High Schools attend school daily on ASU's campus where students also earn college credits.
