The 2nd annual Legacy 5K Run for Life kicked off early Saturday morning.

Over three hundred fifty participants turned out to Legacy Park, the eighty-two acre sports park ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church.

All proceeds will benefit the Alpha Pregnancy Center, the Crisis Pregnancy and Family Counseling Ministry.

David Smith Executive Director of Alpha Counseling center says, “Ultra sounds everything we do is free of charge and was really excited about being able to raise some money to help the women and children in our community.”

Event organizers say Saturday’s event was a success and they are looking forward to planning for a bigger 5K event next year.
