ALBANY, GA --
Students who attend an alternative school, like the suspect in the Chardon High School shooting, often get a bad reputation.
But is it always warranted?
Dr. John Davis is principal of the South Georgia Regional Achievement Center and says it's true, many of his students are on probation, doing drugs, or just act out and wanting attention.
But he says his mission is make things change to bring out the potential in those students.
“We do a great job with what we have to work with, and that is turning lives around, taking negative energy and turning it into positive energy, and we've all witnessed from the data it can be done,” says Davis.
Davis says he's seen plenty of success stories that make him proud of the work he does every day.
