ALBANY, GA --
Since Chehaw Park has been closed for two weeks to carry out a routine forestry maintenance program, they’re opening their gates to everyone this weekend.

As a way to say ‘thank you’ to the community, Chehaw says they will not charge an entry fee Saturday January 28th or Sunday January 29th

The maintenance project that closed the park for two weeks included trimming or cutting down more than 1,000 trees in the public areas of the park. Chehaw was recently awarded with the “Certified Forest Steward” designation from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Georgia Forestry Commission for their dedication to preserving and maintaining their landscape which is an important refuge for numerous animals and plants.
