ALBANY, GA. --
Thursday marked a milestone for Albany Technical College because new graduates are the school’s first group of students to earn a degree under the semester system that was implemented back in August.

Albany Tech officials say this commencement was also special because the school graduated its oldest student.

The 65-year-old woman earned a degree in culinary arts.

One woman who attended the ceremony says she knows it's never too late to follow your dreams because her mother is among the graduates.

“Congratulations, I just want her to know that she inspires me. It's never too late to do what have to do. I bless her to keep on going,” said Tawanda Henderson.

Albany Tech’s graduation ceremony was held at the Albany Civic Center.
