ALBANY, GA. --
According to Business Week magazine people looking for an inexpensive place to live can find it in Americus, Georgia.

Americus ranks 25th in the nation on the magazine’s Cheapest Places to Live list.

The article reports that people can find a two bedroom apartment for under $550 and the city is said to have some of the cheapest gas prices in southwest Georgia.

The average cost of living in Americus is 11.8% below the national average, but something that may turn people away is the city’s 12% unemployment rate.

Americus is home to Habitat for Humanity, President Jimmy Carter and it’s the site of Charles Lindbergh’s first solo flight.
