Police say Albany fire crews had to cut off the driver's door to get her out after a crash on Slappey Boulevard that caused her car to coast near an intersection

ALBANY, GA --
The door of a vehicle had to be cut off to get the driver out after a crash on Slappey Boulevard Thursday evening.

Albany police say a black Lincoln LS traveling north on Slappey crossed out of his lane while attempting to make a turn and drove into the lane a white Ford Expedition was in. The crash caused the Ford Expedition to coast toward the signal light at Palmyra Road and Slappey.

There were four passengers in the Expedition including a pregnant woman and three year old, according to APD. They say no one was transported to the hospital but that the passengers told them they were going for a medical examination on their own.

The driver of the Lincoln LS, James Chastain, 29, is charged with Failure to Maintain a Lane. Police say additional charges are pending.
