MoDot hopes it will address safety concerns

You may have noticed some changes to the Clinic Road entrance in Hannibal.  It's now closed.  Barricades were put out Thursday morning at the entrance between Wendy's and Riley's Auto Parts.  There have been quite a few accidents because of this intersection.  MoDot hopes that closing this entrance will help reduce safety concerns.

"We've closed clinic road due to some safety concerns. The intersection itself is just awkward and the way it lays out almost parallel to 61, it's just not a good situation," said Jason Shafer with MoDot.

There is alternate access to Clinic Road's South entrance near Huckleberry Park.  MoDot says the Barricades are permanent.  Next Spring, there are plans to remove the pavement.
