ALBANY, GA -- The Leesburg Police Department is still collecting toys for children this holiday season.

This drive though specifically helps children in foster care. It's the eighth year the department has held this program.

“This is something to me about the children because i look at it like this; they can't spend Christmas with their family members. They spend it with somebody that has taken them in to take care of them. And i am proud that they are doing that but this is just a little something extra to them and back to the community,” said Leesburg Police Chief Charles Moore.

They'll be taking new toys up until the 19th.

There are drop-off locations set up at the Lee County Chamber of commerce, Lee County Sheriff's Office, Leesburg Police Department, the Dollar General stores on North Slappey and Philema Road and the IGA Grocery Story on Hwy. 19.
