ALBANY, GA -- A former Ward II City Commissioner is now Albany's first woman mayor.

Dorothy Hubbard won the Albany Mayoral Election with 53 percent of the vote; fellow Albany Mayoral Candidate B.J. Fletcher received approximately 47 percent of the vote during a run-off election Tuesday night.

"I am going to meet with all the elected officials in the next 20 days so they can understand what my platform is so we can work together and show them how we can all work together. I'm going to share with them what the people have shared with me because my platform came directly out of from what the people said we ought to be doing to move our city forward," says Hubbard.

Hubbard is most known for her work as a city commissioner for Ward II in Albany.
