ALBANY, GA. -- If you want to help a charity like the Salvation Army, but don't have the cash all you have to do is log on to Facebook!

Anyone who goes to the Albany Federal Employees' Credit Union's Facebook page and hits the ‘like’ button will have one dollar donated to the Albany Salvation Army.

The credit union is attempting to boost their visibility within the community all while helping a local charity.

Salvation Army officials say the extra money will come in handy.

“Those kinds of donations that happen during Christmas helps take care of expenses. It will help us in the new year and help us keep the shelter open in January and February when it's not the Christmas season,” said Salvation Army Captain Doug McClure.

Facebook users will have until Christmas day to participate in the online fundraiser.
