UGA Pharmacy students consider Albany campus for clinical training

ALBANY, GA -- Pharmacy residential student candidates from the University of Georgia toured the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital campus.

Five have already committed to coming to Albany next fall.

Officials hope that within in the next three to five years, they'll have 20 pharmacy students at the Albany campus.

“And they'll be spending their 3rd and 4th year here getting their clinical education at this hospital and in the surrounding area,” said Assistant Dean of the satellite campus Iqbal Khan.

The students got to know each other when they went bowling Monday night in Albany.

They left for Athens Tuesday afternoon.
