ALBANY, GA -- Kids of the 70's partnered up Saturday with a new local non-profit to collect toys and food for those in need this holiday season.

Highway 55 was playing as folks were donating items at Booters downtown.

Moving Mountains Charity is a new non-profit group just starting up.

They're collecting food to deliver to those who may be going hungry in the area.

The toys collected will be donated to Toys For Tots to be distributed to families closer to Christmas.

“We all grew up in Albany and we graduated from the Albany schools, so we kind of just got together and just decided we needed to do something for Albany. This is our way to give back,” said Sam Lee, administrator for Kids of the 70’s.

“What we want to do is, if we find out that there are some people hungry in our neighborhoods, we want to be able to raise food year round and that's what we're going to do. And we're also going to do special events, we're actually going to be doing a great New Year’s Eve thing down here at Booters,” says Martha Palmer-McCorvey, president of Moving Mountains Charity.

Moving Mountains will distribute the food December 23.

They are also collecting clothing and toys.
