ALBANY, GA -- According to Georgia State Patrol, 7-month-old twins were killed in a single car crash around 4:30 Sunday morning.

The mother was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport from Crisp County into Albany when police believe she fell asleep at the wheel, hit a median, over corrected and flipped the car.

The mother was ejected along with one of the twins.

She was not wearing a seat belt and while the twins were in car seats, they were not restrained.

There was also a 2-year-old boy and nine-year-old girl, also family, in the car--they were not injured.

The mother is said to be in stable condition.
