ALBANY, GA -- In our Facebook Story of the Day, viewers wanted to know what local resources are available for people who want to quit smoking.

The Georgia Department of Public Health has a tobacco quit line for adults, teenagers above the age of 13 as well as pregnant woman. People can call the Quit Line at 1-877-270-STOP.

“You call the quit line you're going to be connected with a quit coach who's actually going do a personalized plan and provide you with a quit kit to help you quit smoking. In addition to that they'll also point you to local support groups,” says Remy Hutchins with the Southwest Georgia Public Health District.

The Department of Health is also partnering with the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition to help get the word out about the Quit Line.

Hutchins says 70 percent of smokers actually want to quit.
