ALBANY, GA -- More students have been collecting to coats to help out people in need this winter.

Westover High School held a competition for the One Warm Coat drive. The class that collected the most brought in 66 coats and won a pizza party.

Overall the students collected more than 150 coats.

“The kids brought the coats in because of the need. Not for points. Not for grades, but because of the need. And we were all like 'wow,'” said Loretta Shelton.

Central Monitoring picked up the coats Friday, before the Thanksgiving break. But they are still asking the community to come donate. They have drop-off locations set up at all city fire departments and their main office on 522 Pine Ave.
