ALBANY, GA. -- One southwest Georgia girl says you don't have to be a grown up to make an impact on the world.

Mariah Watts, 9, created a box full of prayers for Phoebe Putney breast cancer patients.

The project called "The Fight" started out as a class assignment and then spread across the entire school.

Students, faculty, and staff at the International Studies Elementary Charter School filled out small prayers on cards place inside the prayer box.

“I made this box so if their relatives or children are not there, they can still know that people are still praying for them and hoping they get better,” said Mariah Watts.

The prayer box now sits in the Phoebe Putney Radiation Oncology Center for people to view while going through cancer treatment.
