ALBANY, GA -- Set up like a birthday party, the Downtown Albany Sertoma Club celebrated their one year anniversary at the Flint RiverQuarium.

During the last year the Downtown Albany Sertoma Club funded events like FlintFest, and during Christmas last year they sponsored a family.

The group formed October 20th of last year.

“We wanted not only to do what other Sertoma's are doing, which is focusing on the hearing impaired or adolescent hearing loss, we wanted to have an Albany Downtown Sertoma club that does community service but we concentrate on building up downtown Albany,” says President-Elect Bryan Bartholomew.

Bartholomew says this year, they plan to add a carnival for the hearing impaired to their list of activities.
