ALBANY, GA. -- Vendors from the city of Albany and as far away as Tampa, Florida rented out space at Santa’s Market in Merry Acres, not only to give their brand exposure, but also to raise money that will go towards giving families a break.

“We're probably over a little close to $100 to give to Megan’s House,” said Photography by Design Owner Diana Glover.

Glover says when she was approached with an offer to join the fundraiser, she didn't hesitate to make a decision.

Megan's house is set up by the Easter Seals of Southwest Georgia to provide relief to parents and guardians of children with developmental disabilities.

“For a child that has to have 24 hour care, they can leave them at Megan’s House and this just helps with some of the expenses,” said Santa’s Market Coordinator Cindy Miles.

For rental spaces alone, the fundraiser rose over $5000 from participating businesses and that tally rises once entrance fees are factored in.

While vendors supported the cause, they also seized the moment to bring in business.

“Bailey's Closet is not a consignment shop. We are a new teen boutique,” said Sheryl Giles.

But the store is not exclusive to teens. The clothing store even has something for the little ones.

Santa’s Market is closed for the 2011 but next year vendors say keep the first weekend in November free because if clothes aren't on your shopping list, there's accessories, foods, and shoes to walk away with.
