ALBANY, GA -- First Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church hosted a forum with the mayoral candidates today, but media was not allowed inside.

Church officials say the event was a public forum not intended for media coverage.

FOX 31 did catch up with one citizen who attended the forum. Tomario Hicks says candidates B.J. Fletcher, Dorothy Hubbard and John White were asked a series of questions on topics relating to jobs, crime and education. He says one question was, “What can you bring to Albany?”

“One answer was bringing an amusement park. What's the use in bringing an amusement park; we don't have money to go to that amusement park. Another answer to that question was college and schools,” says Hicks.

Hicks says approximately 20 people attended the forum, but they were campaign managers and supporters. He says more voters need to attend the forums so they can make an informed decision about which mayoral candidate they want to vote for.
