ALBANY, GA -- Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital tries to make it easy for its employees to donate blood.

They held a blood drive on their campus Wednesday from 10:00-6:00 p.m.

Phoebe partners with the Red Cross and is one of the top five largest customers in the state of Georgia.

We caught up with one man who realizes the importance of giving back.

“I donate blood because we can't manufacture blood, it takes donors to provide the blood needed for surgeries, for emergencies. It's my way to take care of people,” says Mike Leach.

The next drive will be December 14th.

For a full schedule of blood drives in 2012, you can call the Phoebe blood bank at 229-312-6120.
